a message from Kumara School

Kia ora and welcome to 2017!

We are all looking forward to seeing you all back and ready for learning next Monday. Just a few reminders and updates to make sure you are all set for Monday:

For students in years 4-8: we have had word there has been a hold up and we are now expecting these to arrive by Wednesday at the latest! We know you may be a disappointed these will not be available from day one but don't panic they are on their way! :)

Currently a 'boil water' notice is still in effect for Kumara. Please ensure your child brings their own filled water bottle to school as it may not yet be safe to drink water straight from our school taps and drinking fountains. (We will have limited drinking water available onsite).

Even though right now the weather is horrendous, we are planning to do swimming lessons Mon-Wed every week so please bring your togs, towel and swimming bag. (Weather depending students may also be swimming on Thursdays and Fridays so we suggest students bring their togs every day while the pool is open.)

Sun hats & Sunscreen

Remember school sun hats are compulsory in Terms One and Four. We also recommend applying sunscreen to students before they come to school. (We have sun screen available for students during the day at the school office).

Lunches / Morning Teas

We have been really impressed at the lack of rubbish blowing around our school. Thank you for supporting us in our 'no rubbish' policy by reminding your child(ren) that any rubbish or leftovers from morning tea or lunch is to go home in his/her lunchbox.

When you arrive on Monday we are looking forward to seeing your smile and hearing all about your break! Enjoy the end of your holidays - and if you are going to the disco at the Kumara Hall this weekend, make sure you break out your best dance moves!

See you on Monday

Miss Hygate, Mrs Glue, Mrs Gray and the Kumara School Team
