Tourism Infrastructure Fund (TIF)

The Westland District Council is applying to the Government Tourism Infrastructure Fund (TIF), and it’s time to gather the community support for the “Kumara Application Package”. Click here to see presentation.

Kumara package includes:

 1.      Kumara Sportsground – existing car park and toilet upgrade
2.       Upgrade to Taylors Hill car park (as per Chinese Miners' Memorial Reserve resource consent)
3.       Bike racks (sportsground and potentially other sites)

11th April 2018 – Flyer/submission form dropped off in your letterbox

16th April 2018 - Public meeting, 7.30pm at Kumara School

20th April 2018 - Closing date for feedback – email to krtreasurer@gmail.com or return flyer to the Kumara Hall mailbox.

Kumara Sportsground General Meeting

Sunday 18th June 2017, 2pm at the sportsground

Agenda items will include:  The introduction of a comprehensive design plan, a new shelter over the picnic tables, extension of the West Coast cycle trail alongside the sportsground (which will encompass a RSA memorial)... and other matters.

The committee would like residents to attend, we have lots of plans for the facility and if you have more ideas then you can let us know.

KUMARA SPORTSGROUND

 Murray Stuart; Chair of the Kumara Sportsground Committee, has called a Committee Meeting for:   Tuesday 31st January, 6.30pm, at the Sportsground

Residents are welcome to come along.

 The topics the Committee will be discussing are:

1          Receipt of the annual grant from Westland District Council for cleaning the toilets

2          Whether the Committee should seek that the annual grant be increased from June 2017 (by submission to the Westland District Council's Annual Plan).

3          An opportunity for the Committee to work with the West Coast Cycle Trail Project Manager to realign a length of the existing trail along Tramway and Greenstone Roads, to along the eastern bank of the Kumara Sportsground.

Information will be tabled at the meeting about the above matters.

Sportsground Committee Meeting 8.12.16

A Kumara sportsground general meeting is being held this Thursday 8th December, at the sportsground, 7.30pm.

Everyone welcome.

The agenda is fluid, but some matters to be discussed are:

-        Proposal from the NZ Army to hire the sportsground

-        Proposal from Council to put the cycle trail on the stop bank

-        Buying a BBQ, building a covered area and buying permanent picnic tables

-        Refurbishing the old pavilion on the grounds

-        Fixing the goal posts (finally, we MUST get this done!)

-        Holding car boot sales

-        Clean up and development of the area under the felled pines

-        Spraying and weeding of the gardens / cleaning the facility / working bees
